Whether you're stepping into your very first class or preparing for the competition stage, our goal is to help every dancer grow with confidence and passion.

From the studio floor to behind the scenes, our staff works together to ensure every dancer feels confident, prepared, and supported. Each member of our team brings passion, experience, and dedication to creating a positive environment where dancers can grow, learn, and thrive.

Studio Owner/ Director

Jessica Peters

Ms. Jessica has been immersed in the world of dance for over 40 years, beginning her journey in Lake Charles, Louisiana, at Glenda Moss Academy of Dance. She later attended McNeese State University, where she was a member of the Cowgirl Kickers dance team for all four years. After college, she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, to pursue her dream of becoming a professional dancer, performing with Greg Thompson Productions for four years. She then continued her career on the Gulf Coast at the Grand Casino before fulfilling her ultimate passion—opening Jess Dance Studio over 20 years ago.

For the past two decades, Ms. Jessica has worked tirelessly to create an inspiring, disciplined, and nurturing environment where dancers grow not only in technique, but in confidence, character, and love for the art of dance.

Office Manager

Anna Clark

Mrs. Anna Clark is the heart of the day to day operations at Jess Dance Studio. As our office manager, she keeps everything running smoothly—handling logistics, registering dancers for competitions, welcoming and enrolling new students, and keeping families organized and informed.

She is happily married and the proud mom of two, Aubrie Kate and Bentley. When she’s not at the studio, you can usually find her at the baseball field or spending quality time with her close-knit family. Jess Dance is so thankful for her constant support of our dancers and families.

Teacher

Kaitlyn Chennault

Kaitlyn Chennault is from St. Martin, MS where she graduated from St. Martin High School in 2020. She went to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College where she obtained her Associate’s degrees in Arts and in Science. She started dancing at the age of 2. She was a member of the Perkette dance team where she placed 3rd and 6th at UDA nationals in the Open Jazz category. She has been an instructor for Universal Dance Association for 5 years where she has traveled the country sharing her love for dance with many middle and high schools as well as universities. She has been teaching dance for over 10 years and it is her biggest passion in life.

Teacher

Skyler Schenck

Skyler Schenck, a recent graduate of the University of Mississippi, is a versatile dancer trained in ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, and tap. She has earned regional and national recognition, receiving numerous titles at various competitions, including Dancer of the Year, Top Soloist, and Best Dancer. A scholarship recipient of the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City, Skyler is known for her incredible stage presence and technical excellence.

In addition to her performance career, Skyler has worked as a dance instructor, specializing in contemporary, jazz, and lyrical.

Choreographer/ Social Media

Lexie Peters

Lexie Peters grew up in the dance studio as the daughter of Jess Dance owner, Jessica Peters, and has been dancing, teaching, and choreographing for the majority of her life. She has choreographed competition routines since seventh grade and has extensive experience working with dancers of all ages and levels. Lexie is a senior at Ole Miss and is heavily involved in the Ole Miss Dance Company, where she continues to grow as both a dancer and a leader. She has also worked with Universal Dance Association and has a strong passion for technique, performance quality, and encouraging and pushing her dancers to reach their full potential.

Tuition & Fees

Tuition Policy

The easiest and most preferred method is Auto-Pay Tuition. Your tuition will automatically be deducted from your card on the first of the month.

The second method of payment will be through your online portal. This is the same link that you use when purchasing recital tickets. An invoice will also be sent to your email; you can follow the link to dance studio pro and make an online payment. If your account is not paid by the 10th of the month there will be an automatic $10.00 late fee added. Tuition is on a monthly basis regardless of holidays or absences.

Recital Fee

(recital t-shirt and recital digital download included)

There is a $200 recital fee that will be collected. This will help offset some of the costs that come with recital (recital t-shirt, printing, security personnel, props, stage crew, etc) This fee is non-refundable. Half will be collected in November and half will be collected in March.

Costume Fee

There will be an $100 fee per costume. Costume fees will be charged in February. If your costume fees are not paid for, your child’s costume will not be ordered.

Studio Policies

Dancers should arrive no more than 10 minutes before class and remain in the waiting area until their class begins.
Parents, please be on time picking up your children. All students must remain inside the building until their ride has arrived.
Jess Dance is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal property.
Gum, foul language, and disruptive behavior are not acceptable.
Attendance must be on a regular basis for maximum benefit to the students. Please make every effort to be in class each week and on time.

Dress Code

All classes for ages 6 and under have assigned class-color leotards, which must be ordered through the studio. All other classes may wear pink or black dance attire. Ballet classes must wear a leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes (skirt optional). For all other classes, dancers must wear the appropriate dance shoes for their class. Hair should be pulled up and out of the face.
